Parrish Medical Center’s Worst to First team raised their percentile ranking for “Physicians treat staff in a respectful manner” from the 0.0th percentile, the worst in the comparative database, to above the 90.0th percentile and was recognized by Gallup as the first organization to improve so dramatically in one year. One of the key drivers of this improvement was the creation of Physician Advisory Leaders, nicknamed PALs, recognized as a national best practice. As a result of the PALs program, Parrish Medical Center experienced a cultural transformation that moved them beyond best practice benchmarks for employee engagement and satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and clinical processes and outcomes.
