How You Can Achieve These Goals:
The Florida Sterling Council has three unique assessment tools designed to take your organization through various levels of evaluation enabling you to prioritize improvement objectives. They are all based on the Sterling Criteria for Organizational Performance Excellence and the Malcolm Baldrige National Criteria for Performance Excellence.
The Sterling processes are graduated, starting with the Navigator, progressing to the Sterling Challenge, and finally the Governor's Sterling Award for Performance Excellence. Each process becomes more rigorous and detailed in the assessment model. Each of the three Sterling process levels is designed to progressively move organizations toward their goals of performance excellence.
1. Sterling Navigator
This survey-based evaluation tool is simple, quick, and easy to use. It will provide you with a "snapshot" of where your organization currently is, and identifies organizational strengths and the key opportunities for improvement. It is an excellent tool for helping focus the organization and set future direction2. Sterling Challenge
This intermediate-level approach continues the evaluation and assessment process at all levels of an organization. The Challenge process provides opportunities to involve more members of the organization, is more in-depth, and includes an abbreviated on-site review by a team of Sterling Examiners. The resulting feedback report provides more specific strengths and opportunities for improvement and offers valuable input for the strategic planning process.3. Governor's Sterling Award
Sterling Examiners perform a comprehensive assessment of the organization, including an extensive on-site review and in-depth feedback report that identifies many strengths and opportunities to help formulate improvement plans. Organizations that have fully implemented the STERLING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM may be recognized as role models for performance excellence through the Governor's Sterling Award process and are selected by the Sterling Panel of Judges. Recipients of this prestigious award represent all sectors of Florida's economy, including Manufacturing, Service, Health Care, Hospitality, Public, and Education.Click here to download All Previous Governor's Sterling Award Recipients.
