|
Dr.
Terry Holliday Kentucky Commissioner of Education |

For schools, school districts, and businesses embarking on the journey to performance excellence, red lights come from citizens/customers, national and state requirements, and employees. As leaders, we must use continuous improvement tools to determine which lights are signals to turn right, or pause, and which lights we should run through at full speed on our way to system-wide educational/organizational reform. The performance excellence journey leads to the destination of organizational success, but the journey must outlive any leader and must be embedded at a leadership system level to ensure long-term success. You must never give up just because you encounter a red light. Reaching the destination is always worth the trip. |
